Bioinformatics Tutorial: Identifying Mycorrhizal Fungi from ITS2 sequencing using LotuS2¶
Welcome to the first tutorial in our data analysis series! This guide covers a metabarcoding workflow using the ITS2 region of fungal rDNA, a key step in SPUN's workflow for identifying ectomycorrhizal fungi. Stay tuned - our next tutorial will focus on analyzing SSU data to identify arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
This tutorial utilizes Galaxy, an online computing platform that allows you to start data analysis with just a web browser — no installations required.
Galaxy is a powerful tool for various biological data analyses, not just sequencing. To get started, we strongly recommend signing up for the Galaxy Training Academy.
